ADHD Assessment: A Thorough and Individualized Process

We offer specialized ADHD assessments for adults. The process is comprehensive and tailored to ensure an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

A full ADHD assessment includes:

  • Collection of background information
  • Diagnostic interviews
  • Standardized questionnaires
  • Collection of collateral information (from family/school)
  • Evaluation of somatic (physical) conditions

The total time required for an ADHD assessment is at least 22 hours, including preparation and report writing. The duration may vary depending on the complexity of symptoms, the amount of background information, and necessary tests.

If a diagnosis is confirmed, the need for medication will be assessed, which typically requires an additional 4–6 hours.

Note: An ADHD diagnosis does not automatically entitle one to medication treatment.

Preliminary Assessment

  • Initial consultation and expectation clarification
  • Screening for ADHD symptoms
  • Review of developmental history
  • Evaluation of the need for further assessment

Note: The assessment may be discontinued if symptoms are found to be primarily caused by other mental health conditions.

 Specific Testing and Further Evaluation

  • Collection of collateral information
  • Structured diagnostic interview
  • Neuropsychological testing if needed
  • Somatic examination (performed by me or a general practitioner)

 Medication and Follow-up

  • Assessment of the need for medication
  • Monitoring of medication until stability is achieved
  • At least two mandatory follow-up consultations after starting medication

  • Initial Examination (2 hours)
  • Psychotherapeutic Evaluation Interview (4 hours)
  • Medical Check-up, Blood Test, and ECG (2 hours)
  • Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation (14 hours)
